After last winters kick off by the crews of LookyLooky, Keinemusik & Beastin, it is now the turn of Düsseldorf’s TOYKIO gang to create their personal edition of the NSW Destroyer. The Destroyer is Nikes interpretation of the legendary US varsity jacket. Wearing it means representing and showing where you come from – regardless if it’s a team, a crew, a label or an artist collective. Destroyers embody stories, team spirit and style, warm like a pea coat, as solid as a bomber jacket.

The inspiration for the customized Destroyer was found in works of associated artists and designers that make up the face and character of Toykio and Selim Varols collection. Together with an homage to the Number 7 and their local football team Fortuna Düsseldorf, it is graced with patches by German artists Stefan Strumbel & Flying Förtress. Toykio member, DRMTM founder & multitalent Huy Dieu played a significant role in the design process.

The Toykio Destroyer will be handed out to a selected number of friends and personal heroes of the collective – as of November 15 a blank version of the Nike Destroyer, in different styles and colors, will be available in selected stores throughout Germany and Austria: HHV Berlin, NIGH Cologne, AMEN Munich , ASPHALTGOLD Darmstadt , FLASHGIB Stuttgart, CREAM Hamburg and PAAR in Vienna. A limited number of exclusive Toykio Destroyer posters will also be ready for pick up.
