neighborhood at the age of three goes award winner by the age of six, authentic speed metal drummer by the age of 8, club-rocker by the age of 14 and ultimately six time world DJ champion (current world record) by the age of 25.
Ten years of craft and experience combined with a genuine passion for contemporary culture have transformed this still young and handsome chap into an institution.
Rafik has toured the world from Europe to the US to Asia and back playing memorable sets at FABRIC (London), WATERGATE (Berlin), PUNK (Beijing), VOLAR (Hong Kong), REX (Paris), APOLLO (London) and many other high profile venues.
He has shared stages and gained praise from the likes of SOULWAX, DIPLO, MAJOR LAZER, BOYS NOIZE, SKREAM, LOCO DICE, A-TRAK, J-DILLA, WU-TANG, ?UESTLOVE, Q-BERT and many others.
Rafik’s dedication and the years of international club experience combined with the craft and showmanship of a World Champion guarantee highly unique and eclectic sets – merging the best of house, electronica, rock, hip hop, dubstep and dancehall – all spiced up yet never overloaded with the finesse of a champion. Because music will always come first.
Kamikaze first made a name for himself in the 1990′s back in his native Germany by pioneering mash-up dj-ing. His signature sound earned him recognition & JUICE Magazine, europe’s biggest hip-hop/urban monthly, awarded him first place in their mixtape awards for three years straight.
Today, he is kept busy jet-setting to Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Moscow, Berlin, London & Zuerich, holding down a residency at M1nt Club Shanghai & The Venetian Casino Macau, where he spins for the likes of Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Avril Lavigne’s Birthday Bash, F1 after-parties & represents Shanghai’s monthly Bananas & Yum Yum Parties, Kamikaze’s original brand of mash-up, house, funk, lounge and R&B keeps dance floors heaving & clubs rocking all night long.
